Stepping into the workforce after 18 years of self-employment, presented a certain amount of trepidation and uncertainty around which career path to head down. I’m proud to have followed the path back to Aged Care and proud to be working for Regis.In 2004 my partner and I founded Abode; recognised in 2006 as one of the world’s premiere alternative clubs. This multifaceted space was a social hub for alternative lifestylers and unique socialites and championed the acceptance of gender and social diversity.Recognition for my hands-on role at the front and center of our build team, through to a philosophy that (from our patrons experiential perspective) no two weekend's would ever be the same, developed into a solid reputation as 'the chick that does everything'.Abode provided the platform for my interest in AV systems, lighting and spatial design to intertwine with a flair for event production and performance conceptualisation. My signature ‘elegantly twisted’ style made its mark both inside Abode and out - through external event production and collaboration with Film and TV production crews. We brought the journey to an end in June 2015, then with refurbishment and re-branding complete, we re-launched the venue as Saint Martins Place (StMP) in November 2015.As an arts and entertainment space for hire, StMP's strong stage focus extended to live bands and acoustic music, vaudeville and comedy, burlesque and immersive theatre, plus art installations and exhibitions, EDM gigs and social events.Prior to this adventure, a successful corporate career in (Healthcare and Tertiary) Commercial Services and Event Production instilled deeply, the importance of being multi-skilled and hands-on. I was privileged to be presented with some incredible opportunities and I managed at a senior level, many and varied projects. Highlights include the prestigious Premiere’s Book Awards (WA), The Royal Agriculture Society contract and the Athletes Village Dining Room at Sydney 2000 Olympics.
