Over these 2+ years, I was fortunate to teach grades 9-12 at Palmetto, Powdersville, and Wren High Schools. As a teacher, I had the responsibility for the academic development of around 60 - 120 students per year and I helped facilitate curriculum design and implementation. I liaised with parents, other faculty, and school staff, guided discovery learning, and used various classroom methodologies to facilitate a constructive learning environment.Other components of my role as a teacher during this 2+ years timeframe included:1) Ad Hoc Course Development - I used a pre-scripted curriculum to enable freshmen reading well below grade level to advance in reading competencies. I also infused bits and pieces of the regular English 1 program that I felt students needed some familiarity with in order to advance into a regular English II classroom the next year. This course took those students who normally had a predicted passing rate of 0% on the End of Course Exam to a 40% passing rate in year 1. Due to COVID, my students did not have the opportunity to test in 2020; therefore, I do not know what the success rate would have been for my Year 2 students, but I am confident they would have done as well if not better than my Year 1 students.2) Curriculum Design - I researched and developed most of the course materials for my ESOL I - IV classes.3) Facilitation - I proactively facilitated technical pieces of training to increase student computer literacy.

I returned to my corporate roots after 8 years in the classroom for this opportunity to once again work with the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services and solutions company. I worked as a correspondence analyst for annuities, life insurance, and IT. My role included:1) Research and Project Management - I dug deep into what forms were still applicable and which ones could be terminated; I edited the forms deemed applicable. I helped anticipate what new forms were needed based on business needs and I helped to create necessary forms. Throughout this process, I spearheaded and tracked the DXC side of the reconciliation, consolidation, creation, and updating of more than 5,000 pieces of correspondence for a major client within the insurance division of DXC.2) Client Relations - I served as a liaison with this major insurance client. I worked closely with their correspondence team to handle all of the necessary clean up and progression of their correspondence needs.3) I helped create and edit Business Requirement Documents for the automation of the insurance provider's correspondence.
