bigLITTLE is a small-batch production winery owned by brothers Mike and Pete Laing located on Michigan's Leelanau peninsula in northwestern lower Michigan. The goals we have for our wines can be summarized in one word: balance. We aim for a balanced vine canopy in the vineyard during the growing season and strive to maximize quality and yield based on the style of wine we are making, so balancing crop load per vine is critical. We want a balance of sugar, acid and flavor when we decide to pick the grapes and want to balance flavors, alcohol, acidity, sweetness, and mouthfeel when we make our blends. And we want to make sure our wines and styles complement one another to make a strong portfolio of products. We believe strongly that blending grapes together can often result in a more complex and higher quality wine than individual varietal wines. To that end we have several wines that are blends. We believe strongly in sustainable vineyard practices that include limiting pesticides, planting beneficial crops in row middles, irrigating responsibly, and general respect for the land.

The purpose of the Interest Group is to maintain communication and provide resources for members around issues of importance and/or interest to ISPA members who are retired and those who are planning to retire within five year as well as to maintain retiree involvement in the Association.

NASP's Strategic Liaisons facilitate the advancement of the key initiatives of the Association including collaboration and planning of activities across boards, committees, and task forces. Strategic Liaisons are responsible for reporting progress toward meeting key initiatives to the Board of Directors and Leadership Assembly. I will be responsible for activities related to professional development (including the annual convention, summer conferences, and professional growth as well as the Assistance to States and Leadership Development committees. I will be working to ensure that Leadership Development, one of NASP's five Strategic Goals, is being addressed by all of NASP's committees and will assist in promoting collaboration in activities related to leadership development.

I share this position with my Co-Chair, Hiral Bhatt.The responsibilities of the Leadership Development Committee include the following four components:#1: Identify and build leaders within the association#2: Develop a leadership database#3: Provide training and ongoing support for elected and appointed positions#4: Communicate and maintain relationships with all NASP entities impacted by leadership development

As NASP's Interest Group Development Coordinator, I supervises the activities of our 27 current Interest Groups and assisted NASP members in the application process for creating new Interest Groups.
