I am a social worker with over 25 years experience in the Washington DC area and am beginning my second year as a part time instructor for the University of Kentucky MSW Program where I teach SW 740 and 741 to support student field practice experiences.In my full time work, I have led Bread for the City's Northwest Social Services program since 2002 and am responsible for the overall operations of our Behavioral Health services, Housing Access Program, Representative Payee Program, SOAR SSI application assistance program, MSW student training program, and our NW Center’s generalist social work practice. I also lead our agency Trauma Informed Care implementation team and am active in the DC social services and behavioral health community, where I currently serve as the Vice President of the DC Behavioral Health Association. I serve on the advisory board of DC PACT, and represent Bread for the City in the DC Primary Care Association's Clinically Integrated Network. Each of these groups work to improve the health outcomes and social needs of DC residents who are living with low income.I worked with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing as part of their national Practice Transformation Team which was tasked with creating a trauma informed change package for primary care practices.I received my MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and currently live on the Chesapeake Bay with my wife and our young daughter. I enjoy anything that gets me out on the water and, when not attending my daughter's soccer and lacrosse practices, I also love camping, reading, cooking, and screeching on my cello.
