Under the general guidance of the Director of the Division of Fire Prevention & Control (DFPC) and theWildland Fire Management Sections (WFMS) Section Chief, serve as the WFMS spokesperson, representing Section leadership. Routinely interface with multiple local, State, and federal agencies throughout the State of Colorado, as well as media. Develop and implement public education and fire prevention programs, and assist WFMS leadership with internal coordination and communication. Provide support and assistance to local, county, state and federal agencies with the distribution of fire education, prevention, and emergency incident information. Possess a unique level of knowledge and expertise in both wildfire management and information dissemination that is needed by the Section to support its overall mission, "To serve and safeguard the people and protect the property, resources, environment, and quality of life in Colorado."

The Blue Cell Ready Team (BRCT) Coordinator/Manager - provide NIMS and ICS resources and tools as part of a new support program designed specifically for our previous students, customers, exercise participants and staff. The goal of BCRT is to give team members the ability to go beyond just a few days of ICS training and stay engaged with ICS year-round. The program gives participants the opportunity to use processes repeatedly so that they become second nature. Develop and implement programs to reduce community risk primarily as it pertains to natural and manmade disasters, including district-wide Community Risk Assessments and Standards of Cover for Center for Public Safety Excellence accreditation program. Direct public education programs and coordinate internal and external communications. Responsible for dissemination of information to media and the public during emergency situations, including social media management and evacuation notifications. Collaborate with local, state and federal agencies to ensure the District’s ability to appropriately assist communities in the mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery phases of natural and man-made disasters. Manage the District’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), prioritize fuels reduction/ mitigation projects and direct the Wildland Mitigation Specialist and the members of the Seasonal Wildland Team in projects designed to protect at-risk communities and essential infrastructure. Led 2015 ballot initiative which resulted in voter approval of a $25 million bond to build two new fire stations and a training facility. Joint Information Center Lead for 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships, which was staffed by 52 PIOs over a 16-day period.

Colorado Certified All-Hazards Type 3 PIO. Responded to media inquiries and prepared news releases and PSAs. Responsible for maintaining and updating the SCSO website and social media accounts. Administered Concealed Handgun Permit program. Member of countywide Incident Management Team and Emergency Operations Center team. Coordinated training seminars, Citizens Police Academy and assisted County Emergency Management Director in planning and hosting countywide emergency management exercises. Researched and wrote grant proposals for SO and Summit County Rescue Group.

Instituted in-house Quickbooks bookkeeping system and online banking processes. Managed and maintained in-house billing and accounts receivable system. Streamlined procedures and reduced expenses over 10%, while simultaneously increasing collections percentages nearly 20%. Expanded role to become senior paralegal responsible for supervision, scheduling, training and orientation of new employees and introduction of new processes/procedures.

Designed and produced marketing and sales materials, in-house training manuals and detailed guidelines for all Starizon processes, including those for external licensing purposes which increased sales in the first year by nearly 12% and earned the company an award as one of the Inc. 500 fastest growing businesses in America. Organized and executed sales visits and drafted proposals and contracts. Instituted complete revamp of web site and developed database for tracking and evaluation of sales and marketing efforts. Developed Corporate University programs and materials and trained clients prior to University kickoff. Managed marketing, advertising and public relations programs for a retail point-of-sale software developer. Originally hired to develop media relations and write technical documentation; expanded role to include production of all sales, marketing and training materials. Introduction of new sales promotions increased annual sales between 15-40% during the first four years. Organized and attended trade shows and produced annual week-long reseller training seminar and periodic end-user seminars across the country. Instituted a marketing consulting and promotional assistance program for a nationwide network of over 500 resellers.

Assisted Marketing Manager in all aspects of marketing and public relations program for a 350-bed resort, including a property management company, a travel agency and nine on-site restaurants and nightclubs. Managed departmental budget and conducted marketing research. Responsible for coordinating photo shoots, media planning and advertising placement. Created advertisements, marketing and sales materials, press packets and press releases. Coordinated with the Town of Breckenridge and other local organizations to promote and produce concerts, festivals and other special events including the World Cup ski races, Genuine Jazz in July and the 4th of July Concert Series.
