Since graduating from Washington State University in Vancouver, WA in December 2019, I have been serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the tech crew at Portland Youth Builders, an alternative high school in Portland, OR dedicated to helping students finish their high school degree and get prepared for the work force. I have been busy for most of the year working from home, coaching students, helping with record-keeping, and developing various online coursework, including a course based on the free course from VEX Robotics and implementing various other source material to create a customized robotics course that introduces the basics of programming. I have also been busy volunteering even in the remote world through Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver with the tech team. I’m looking forward to going back to an in-person world where I can get back to working with children, both at Crossroads and with the foster care program through Office Moms and Dads, where I have volunteered since 2018. I am looking for a career where I can combine my love of helping people with my love of all things tech.
