About Tracy Mainwaring

My passion for music and the belief that all people can be musical come together in my role as a music educator for Durham District School Board. I work with students of all ages to guide them to their best musical selves. Along the way, I've also experienced the joys of teaching science, geography, and art. On a good day, I even get to incorporate all four subjects into one lesson. My strength as an educator is recognizing that it's not about my own subject expertise, but about discovering where the student is at, how they learn best, and what they need to experience to get there.

Music involves secret codes, repetition, languages and symbols that all work unique areas in the brain, so why not strengthen these?
