Responsible for coordinating and guiding a team of engineers whose core competencies include Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, java, javascript, data warehousing, and report writing. Also responsible for resource allocation, providing input on RFPs, working with internal teams and client teams to make decisions for our standard application, and for custom solutions, integrations, etc.

In addition to the Business Intelligence and Database Engineers I was already overseeing as Manager of Professional Services, I also took on a leadership role managing SofTrek's team of Web Application Engineers. I managed a team of 13 engineers which included on-shore and off-shore contractors. In addition, I instituted a software engineering internship program for students of University of Buffalo and Buffalo State College.

Oversaw a team of Business Intelligence and Database Engineers, interns, and contractors whose focus was directed at database and reporting solutions, both standard to our applications and custom for clients as well. Streamlined the estimation process for Professional Services projects, and worked closely with a contractor to design and implement a series of dashboards allowing management to view and make decisions off the PS pipeline.

Lead team of three business intelligence engineers, including myself, who were focused on data warehousing and reporting solutions. As BI Team Lead, I was able to hone my skills, and that of my team, to become highly proficient in the areas of data analysis, writing performance-minded sql, visually representing key data indicators, and working with clients to gather and interpret requirements.

Performed various software engineering duties over time including C programming to convert data in files to an Oracle database, developing the PledgeMaker software application using Oracle Forms, writing numerous standard and custom pl/sql program units for use with database triggers, standalone utilities, and third party integrations, contributing to our java-based ClearView web application, designing and implementing a SofTrek-standard data warehouse, learning and implementing TIBCO Jaspersoft ad hoc and advanced reporting solutions.
