When I joined Oldcastle Infrastructure, Inc., I was initially hired as a Customer Service Rep. However, within a short time, I was moved into an Administrative/HR Liaison role, and just 11 months later, I was promoted to HR Generalist—one month ahead of my goal. Now, I’m responsible for HR operations across six locations across four states in the Southwest and Pacific Northwest.One of my proudest accomplishments here has been founding and leading a Culture Committee to improve employee engagement and morale. From organizing company-wide events to rolling out new initiatives like the Rosetta Stone Language Program, I’ve focused on making the workplace more inclusive and supportive. Managing HR for seven locations keeps me on my toes, but I enjoy the variety and challenges that come with this role, especially when I can directly see the positive impact on our employees.

Teaching more than 135 students at Queen Creek High School was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I built education plans that fostered both learning and inclusion, which helped students from all backgrounds feel supported and valued. Blending traditional and digital learning methods allowed me to cater to different learning styles, ensuring no student was left behind.My time as a teacher taught me the importance of communication, empathy, and building strong relationships—skills that have been invaluable in my HR roles. While I eventually transitioned to HR, I still carry the lessons I learned in the classroom with me, especially the ability to stay adaptable, remain patient, and create environments where people can grow and thrive.

I wore many hats—office coordinator, surgical technician, receptionist, and client care coordinator. Managing day-to-day operations while also focusing on patient care gave me a strong foundation in multitasking and attention to detail. I took charge of purchasing office and clinical supplies, ensuring the practice had what it needed to run smoothly.My role also involved handling accounts receivables and acting as a patient advocate, walking them through their treatment journey from start to finish. This experience taught me how to balance administrative efficiency with personal care, skills that have translated well into HR. I learned how to create a seamless experience for others, which is something I now bring to the employee experience.
