I have worked with Adults with Disabilities as a Program Coordinator over the last several years. I have also worked as a Nursing Orderly, Health Care Aide, Licensed Practical Nurse and Registered Nurse since 1998, in various positions throughout that time. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, camping, reading, painting and other things around the house. My previous experience has provided me with the tools to develop and manage several programs, as well as develop excellent communication skills when working with people. My positive attitude is reflected in my work ethic, reliability, team work ethics and ability to take charge of my projects while also keeping a sense of humour

Program CoordinatorNext Step Residential Services Jan 2016 - May 2021Medicine Hat, AlbertaWhile working in my most recent role as Program Coordinator, I assisted with creating a multi-disciplinary team which consisted of psychiatrists, Police and Crisis Team (PACT), Addiction and Crisis Team (ACT), Social Workers, Probation Officers, Addiction Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Harm Reduction Specialists, Public Guardians Office, Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) representatives, Community Treatment Order (CTO) representatives etc. to aid with stabilization of complex individuals on my caseload; this team was formed to enhance those complex individual’s quality of life. In my Coordinator position, I had also provided education, connected resources and offered ongoing support to individuals and family/Guardians in person, online or by phone as well as facilitated groups, meetings and training sessions. As Program Coordinator, I managed a caseload of individuals (typically 13 to 20 individuals) that had Provincial funding with Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD). As part of the services criteria, I planned annual case conferences, submitted required reporting in a timely manner, as well as created PDD proposals for funding when necessary. Although my work title was Program Coordinator, my daily work schedule had many similarities to an administrative role. I provided daily attention to detail and problem-solving skills, provided excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational and planning skills, using Microsoft Office in my day-to-day caseload. I organized travel arrangements for individuals and staff, while creating a budget for approval from the Office of the Public Trustee, and allocating funds as needed. My workload consisted of writing letters and emails regularly, booking conference rooms for meetings, booking taxis and hotels, etc. for individuals. In my day-to-day responsibilities, I maintained computer and manual filing systems, and handled sensitive information in a confidential manner.
