Business Operations Manager
CurrentChildren's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) is one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country. It has ranked among the nation's top hospitals according to the U.S. News & World Report list of "Best Children's Hospitals" for the last several years. The hematology/oncology service line of CHOA, The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, is one of the pre-eminant providers for children with cancers and blood disorders in the country. I manage a team that is responsible for ensuring that our fundraising is aligned with our strategic needs and that our donations are spent according to donor restrictions. I manage a team that currently oversees an annual budget of over $25M in philanthropy funds, in over 100 different fund accounts and posting to eight different cost centers.Responsibilities:* With service line leaders, participating in strategic planning, implementation, and goal setting, ensuring that our donor funding needs meet up with our ability to raise philanthropy.* Maintaining detailed department proforma and spending plan, forecasting fundraising to cover growth and ensuring correct mix of cash vs. endowment.* Being the primary service line contact for our foundation team; matching needs of the service line and donor interests. Creating proposals for donors.* Managing funds to ensure spending is consistent with donor intent and service line vision.* Reporting to donors, the Board of Directors, and internal leaders on how money is raised and spent.* Creating, monitoring, and managing $25M annual budgets for several cost centers.* Direct day-to-day management of special funds coordinator (since 2015).* Working closely with Emory University on leased physicians, research expenses, and fellowship expenses. Approximately half of the annual budget is related to expenses at Emory University.
