My super power is setting a goal and then moving mountains to achieve my mission. Most recently it was to discover gravel bike racing, twelve months later I completed a 50 mile race in the mud, an exhilarating and empowering achievement. No mountains were moved, but a lot of muddy hills were traversed. This mission oriented mindset is a part of my professional life as well. Twenty two years ago I set the goal of creating a retail brand that embodied the curation of products that spoke to consumers looking to design their personal style with a distinctive perspective. That brand became my retail business, Cactus Creek Trading Co. which has become an established shop, beer & wine cellar, and event space in a thriving tourist market. With steadfast determination my retail dream continues to flourish as we enter our 23rd year of business. There have been a lot of muddy hills, but with a steadfast vision there is always success. The foundation of Cactus Creek's culture and growth is set on the primary mindset of radical service. In 2000, still fresh from graduating from Texas A&M, followed by a corporate retail job - I realized quickly in my career that I wanted to be "on the floor" for my retail profession where I could affect the service aspect of retail. My mission has always been to bring customers a human experience that embodies hospitality - a style experience that is evolving and forward thinking - and solutions based attention to the needs of customers. After 22 years in business, that same mission is the hallmark of Cactus Creek's culture. As a lifetime retailer and merchant I have successfully ran and operated my retail business and event space, Cactus Creek, since 2000. My leadership skills are sharp and evolving as my company remains focused on customer service, employee retention, marketing, social media, buying, merchandising, e-commerce, event planning and creative solutions.
