As CEO and Co-Founder of Izigos Corp., an early-stage tech startup, I seek to help the truck freight distribution supply chain reclaim the $4 billion lost to idleness and unproductivity through data driven insights. While my journey into entrepreneurship has been unconventional, it nonetheless reflects my passion to demonstrate the massively impactful and transformative power of data. Having acquired an interest in this increasingly important field from an early age, I fully embraced the process of identifying problems and extracting key information from data to inform the development of workable solutions for an identified problem. As such, I earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics during my undergraduate studies followed by a Master of Public Health and Master of Science from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, respectively. My rewarding career as an epidemiologist has spanned several industries, including biotechnology, federal government, academia, and healthcare organizations. These valuable experiences resulted in 14 peer-reviewed journal publications and chapter reviews, and 14 conference posters or presentations. Additionally, I have been the recipient of awards, including Excellence in Quantitative Science (Individual Award, CDC, 2016); Excellence in Workforce Wellness (Team Lead Award, CDC, 2015) and Excellence in Program or Policy Evaluation (Team Award, CDC, 2012).Fortunately, I pursued a profession whereby data provided the building blocks for driving change and transforming lives. However, I quickly learned some industries are unable to effectively optimize data to drive results and inform business. This ultimately resulted in the founding of Izigos Corp – offering an innovative and effective digital platform to create a business optimal, performance-based and networking platform for the truck freight industry.Advanced digital technologies present an enormous opportunity to ensure integrated and efficient supply chain solutions. With technological progress developing at an exponential rate, the power and possibilities of big data are nearly limitless. As a founder, I am committed to democratizing access to technology and data and am excited to be a burgeoning leader of driving change in the truck freight distribution supply chain industry.
