Dr. Thorpe holds a Masters degree and Ph.D. from Harvard University, and a bachelors degree from UCLA, where she graduated with honors, cum laude. Dr. Thorpe received numerous awards and honors from both UCLA and Harvard. Prior to earning her doctorate, Dr. Thorpe worked as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense in the Force Protection unit conducting security and risk analyses outside the continental United States. Before that, she worked for 10 years at Bankers Trust Company in Los Angeles. Currently Dr. Thorpe is the co-founder and CEO of OR-6, LLC, which was founded in 2006 to serve as a platform for creating and developing novel medical devices that promote and ensure patient safety.
