I coordinate public health emergency response activities across 8 counties, stepping in to help manage public health crises as they arise. I also lead and collaborate on building and maintaining vital community coalitions, like our Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Mass Immunization and Prophylaxis Strategy, Oklahoma’s Medical Reserve Corps, and our Regional Medical Response System partners. I previously held this role from November 2018 to March 2019. ACHIEVEMENTS:● Took on additional responsibility of developing maintenance improvement projects across facilities, saving district tens of thousands annually by reducing external contracting. ● Led a program overseeing 24 vehicles, ensuring timely maintenance and minimizing breakdowns. Mitigated costly repairs by addressing overdue servicing and establishing long-term upkeep strategies. ● Upgraded security by installing cameras and exterior lighting at all eight facilities. Eliminated previous safety risks and significantly boosted security where it was lacking. ● Resolved HVAC issues in county buildings by deploying portable units, ensuring heat during the winter and preventing prolonged disruptions. Later repurposed units in a tornado-damaged county jail, minimizing downtime.

In this role, I responded to a range of public health emergencies—from natural disasters to disease outbreaks and unexpected incidents. I was also responsible for designing and leading preparedness and response training programs, making sure teams were ready for whatever came our way. I worked closely with our central office and local health departments to help create and refine emergency response and public health operations plans. ACHIEVEMENTS:● Led local and state public health response during severe storms and flooding (2019) as a member of the OSDH Emergency Preparedness and Response Service Regional Planning team. ● Administered flu vaccinations across 16 counties for Operation Flu Fight and organized tetanus vaccinations for first responders. ● Delivered Mass Immunization and Prophylaxis training to local health department employees and their partners, averaging 3-4 monthly sessions with 15-40 attendees.

I was tasked with leading public health emergency response efforts across multiple counties.ACHIEVEMENTS:● Strengthened partnerships with local, district, and state stakeholders to enhance emergency preparedness efforts. ● Developed Emergency Response Plans across eight counties, establishing systems for Mass Immunization, Pandemic Flu, and operational continuity. ● Collaborated with county teams to ensure smooth CDC site visits by preparing MIPS plans and leading planning, training, and documentation efforts. ● Represented County Health Department at emergency management coalitions and acted as Medical Reserve Corp Coordinator, structured trainings, recruitment activities, meetings, and response activations.

I manage Environmental Health Division operations including development, planning, implementation, reporting, and evaluation. I coordinate, execute, and track grant deliverables ($600K) and assist in budget development/monitoring. A central part of my job is directing the agency’s response to public health emergencies. For the past year, I have served as the Marion, Illinois Region Public Information Officer. My primary responsibility is to release information to the Marion Region local health departments from the Illinois Department of Public Health. ACHIEVEMENTS:● In Illinois, the most significant change in Environmental Health has been the adoption of the Federal Food Code. Our division implemented the new code across 360 restaurants. This extensive undertaking took nine months and involved retraining inspectors and upgrading hardware/software. ● Developed an Emergency Response Healthcare Coalition to ensure all entities involved in emergency management work together.● Conserved resources during the two-year budget impasse. Prioritized resources, reduced staff hours, and cut all non-essential expenses to accomplish grant deliverables. ● Increased productivity and saved money by centralizing Environmental Health operations.● Collaborated with internal and external stakeholders including the Illinois Department of Public Health, the CDC, and other Health Department Administrators and Environmental Health Directors. I’m known for making timely decisions and preventing emergencies by proactively preparing for them. Former managers have commended my ability to perform well under pressure and communicate well with stakeholders inside and outside of our agency. My relationships at the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Shawnee Preparedness and Response Coalition have helped our department procure grants for backup power generators and a mobile evacuation and sheltering trailer.

As Regional Manager I oversaw the rollout of the Affordable Care Act healthcare program. Our team led the region in education, coordination, and technical support (17 health departments serving a 27-county area). I was responsible for monitoring outreach and community education progress as well as the fiscal performance of each In-Person Counselor (IPC) agency. ACHIEVEMENTS:● Trained 27 in-person counselors (many with limited experience) to assist with new insurance regulations and make product recommendations. ● Increased health insurance enrollees by 12%, bringing 8500 individuals from uninsured to insured.

I owned and ran a successful insurance agency, selling automobile, fire, life, property, medical and dental insurance policies. I customized insurance programs for clients and ensured policy requirements were filled. ACHIEVEMENTS:● Brought company from start-up to nearly $1M in premiums in less than 10 years.● Increased clients and developed a local pipeline by networking within the community and building lists of prospective clients.
