I wanted to be a dental hygienist from the age of 13. My childhood dentist cleaned my teeth and told me about the field of dental hygiene. I became a dental hygienist by 20 years old. I started teaching at QCC as adjunct in 2008. I became a public health dental hygienist in 2015 and started my own business. And I also work in a children’s office on the weekends. I love every aspect of dental hygiene. There are so many avenues in this field and all are so very rewarding. I am blessed to teach students from my years of experience. I enjoy cleaning all the homebound patients and nursing home residents teeth because most of them appreciate it and it helps them to feel so much better. It humbles me to see the growth from the children I see at an autistic school I service. Dental hygiene is the best career and I am proud of all I have accomplished in this profession.
