enhance social inclusion for people with learning disabilities. Developed safer places scheme throughout the City so that people with a learning disability have a temporary safe haven to go to if they feel vulnerable, scared, ill or anything else happens while they are out in the Community. We currently have set up 120 Safer Places in the City, Newcastle, and Staffs Moorlands and every organisation who joins receives learning disability awareness. We have also developed a Valued Volunteers scheme where we have recruited volunteers to support adults with a learning disability to access activities, appointments etc in the daytimes, evening and weekends.We research and source opportunities that are fully inclusive. Anything that is going on in the City or surrounding areas is checked that it is inclusive so that anyone with a learning disability can access and receive a warm welcome and be treated equally. This extensive list is sent out monthly to a whole list of stakeholders from the public, private and voluntary sector as well as to individuals, parents and carers.

Supporting adults with a learning disability in a day service setting. From very able service users to two to one support for people who are more challenging. Mentoring and supporting staff. Quality checking other sessions. Taking sessions to meet individual needs, eg; woodwork, golf, gardening, etc. Following care plans, meeting with other professionals, Social Workers, O/T's, person centred planners etc
