About Tracy Allison Altman, Phd

At Museum of AI, I lead the curation of data for training AI models on evidence-based reasoning. Also, evaluation of AI performance. Our aim is to make technology more helpful, honest, and harmless for professionals working in science, business, medicine, and/or technology (hopefully without sucking the fun out of it). I once taught 8th-grade math, so I'm not afraid of anything. I nurture decision analysis and AI literacy skills. *New: I'm delighted to be teaching a graduate course 'AI for Public Sector Innovation' this semester.* Public Policy PhD with Engineering/Computer Science degrees. Plus lots of teaching experience, from teens to grad students. I've been accused of writing a book and some decent blog posts.Previously: Executive team leadership for software development and content creation in baseball statistics, regulatory compliance, science publishing, and oil & gas investing. I have developed enterprise software learning curricula and instructional design; published, managed, and edited technical journals. PhD in Public Policy Analysis. Masters (Computer Science concentration). Secondary Mathematics teaching credential. BS in Chemical Engineering. Educator in AI, math, decision making, writing; heavy interest in andragogy.Follow me on Twitter @UglyResearchSpecialties: evaluation, evidence-based decision making, decision science, informal learning, human-AI collaboration

I lead teams curating complex, high-quality data for improving AI capabilities, particularly for reasoning through open-ended, "no ground truth" problems. *I'm hiring PhDs & subject matter experts.*I love creating simple explanations of complex concepts: How to connect actions with outcomes, whether in technology, science, business, medicine, or public policy. I blend informal learning and storytelling with more traditional formats.- Leading curation of data for building evidence-based AI reasoning capability- Producing artifacts & exhibits at Museum of AI- Evaluating public policy implications of technology One of my favorite topics is "What decisions can/should AI make without human input?
