With 25 years involvement in many different automotive related projects as a linguist, I made a shift to becoming a bilingual project manager 5 years ago. During that time I managed the software localization for an embedded infotainment system for a major Japanese automaker and have been involved in supporting other projects. My passion is to apply best principles and practices, especially kaizen, gained from working in and with Japanese companies to improve efficiency, drive down cost and improve morale in business operations, processes and systems by actively managing and/or supporting the linguistic needs of projects in the automotive industry so companies achieve successful outcomes. Over many years of providing languages services, Primix asked me to become a member of their international marketing team to enhance sales in North America and Europe. Through various strategic programs, I was involved in many overseas marketing initiatives including a strategic partnership with Bühler Corporation for sales of lithium ion battery manufacturing technologies in Europe and North America. I continue to consult and advise upper management on marketing tools, materials and ideas, as well as provide ongoing languages services.

By capitalizing on my background in translation in the automotive industry, I have been able to take the next step into software localization project management for in-vehicle infotainment system software into 40 languages. I was responsible for finding and implementing tools to enhance and improve the localization process, including vendor selection. I was able to "mature" the localization process at Visteon to the point where processes became stable and repeatable, contributing to the success of overall software development outcomes.
