• One of the first research technicians for a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (medical) start-up that was grown successfully to profitability and then purchased by an international company – ResMed.Prototyping for research, concept and product development including software and hardware test setups. Write/perform/coordinate testing protocols. Electronic, pneumatic, software, and system level design reviews. EMI/Thermal/Mechanical certification testing/coordination. Promoted to Lab Manager - Oversee lab resources including cost, equipment, materials and people. • Chosen to be the personal tech for the former Chief Technical Officer of Bell Labs Mesquite when he started his own company (PwrCon, Inc.).Prototype Specialist for a 4 man company of ex-Bell Labs engineering staff. Consultation, power development, prototype builds, qualification assistance, thermal, and wind tunnel testing for Tyco, Lucent, Dell, National Instruments, Intersil, LiteOn, etc. Designed the company web page. Responsible for all office infrastructure including electrical wiring, phone system and IT. Encouraged transition to Linux and Open Source software.

• Founding member of divisional start-up which included a scratch factory build and move from Texas to California. I was number six in a division that eventually grew to a size of over 150-175 people.• Optimized and finalized the design and management of a high volume semi-automatic production line.Lab motto was "No Incrementalism". Primary job function was prototyping and development activities, test, all EMI testing, calibration, purchasing of equipment and lab supplies.

• Built, staffed, and managed an electronic test fixture manufacturing business for an adjacent machine shop that achieved $1.75 Million in gross sales in two years.Responsible for complete product interval - quotations, scheduling, CAD design (electrical & mechanical), PCB layout, documentation, purchasing coordination, employee & manufacturing supervision.

• Served as Process Engineer responsible for final design optimization, programming, output quality, and mechanical reliability of high volume semi-automatic assembly line.As a technician – served as leader of two quality improvement teams, member of Dallas Works schematic standardization team, development of three computer power supplies, EMI, and assist PC board layout.

Developed switching power supply for RF transmitters. System integration and production start-ups included in job requirements.

Developed documentation configuration for company-wide engineering database of standard purchase parts.

• Solved the EMI problems in the night vision systems of the late 70's-early 80's that caused helicopter pilots to lose sight during Army's “We own the night” nap-of-the-earth combat flight maneuvers. This is the achievement I take the most pride in because it had a direct effect in savings soldier's lives and enhancing national security. Ran the EMI lab, and helped with production start-ups in U.S. and Juarez, Mexico. Development and military qualification of high voltage night vision power supplies which included electronic, thermal, shock, vibration, EMI, and humidity testing.
