Hiked the Appalachian trail, Southbound, from July 2020 to December 2020. Hiked Solo during a year with extra challenges (COVID) due to very few hostels being open, limited or no shuttle services available to resupply, and very sparse resupply options in many places. Due to a few COVID-related closures and issues, I ended up hiking missed miles in the summer of 2021 to finish the entire trail within one calendar year to be an official Appalachian Trail / AT Thru-Hiker. Start date July 2020: I flew to Maine to hike the AT after spending March through May/June being my niece's full-time school teacher/instructor after schools closed due to Covid and the corporate speaking industry was put on hold for two years.
