Building on backgrounds in chemical engineering and environmental studies, I've spent most of the last almost 30 years building expertise in sustainable industrial / employment lands and infrastructure development as well as industrial symbiosis / circular economy. Jumping in to industrial ecology in the early days (1998!), I started and ran Eco-Industrial Solutions from 2001 to 2011, working on eco-industrial park planning, policy and development nationally and globally (Egypt, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Turkey, U.S). Projects there included the multi-million dollar Innovista and TaigaNova eco-industrial parks. Family life required a shift to a more local focus, and I was fortunate to transition to leadership at Light House Sustainability Centre, where I held executive positions from 2011 to 2022, including leading the National Industrial Symbiosis Program pilot in BC and AB. I also taught industrial ecology at BCIT for many years. Chronic illness and disability struck a few years ago, and I'm parent to two wonderful, neurodivergent kids. I now bring a more focused social & disability justice and public health lens to my my work.
