Tracy Smith is a managing associate in the M&A and Private Equity practices and the Entertainment, Sports and Media group at Sidley’s office in Century City. Her practice involves advising and representing entertainment companies and sources of capital in M&A, private equity, and commercial transactions. Tracy rejoined Sidley following a judicial clerkship for Judge André Birotte, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to her clerkship and while at Sidley, she completed a fellowship with the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice where she assisted survivors of human trafficking, domestic abuse and other serious crimes with their claims for U.S. immigration relief.Tracy earned her J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, and Salutatorian from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, where she served as lead articles editor of the Pepperdine Law Review. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Beverly Reid O’Connell of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Sandra Segal Ikuta of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to law school, Tracy worked in business and legal affairs at River Road Entertainment in Los Angeles.
