I joined CBIZ Tofias, the New England Division of CBIZ, in 1985 and recently retired as the Senior Managing Director after 20 years at the helm. I am now working in a consulting capacity as a Managing Director with the national office of CBIZ MHM, LLC. My responsibilities include working with various business units on ways to enhance their profitability and operational effectiveness.Prior to joining the company, I held various positions with President Carter from 1976-1980, including posts at the Democratic National Committee and the White House. In addition, I was the President of the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire (BIA), the largest business association in the state.I am actively involved with fundraising efforts for Lovelane, a therapeutic horseback riding program for children with special needs. Additionally, I am a former Community Impact Committee member for the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and the past chair of the board of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.I have delivered speeches to and consulted with numerous groups including: the Managing Partners of BKR International, the New England Management of an Accounting Practice Conference, the HeadWaters Leadership Conference, and the AICPA/Northstar Accounting Firm Leadership Forum. I have also written numerous articles that have appeared in both trade and general interest publications. During my tenure at CBIZ Tofias, I represented the business unit at the national level and participated in the National Leadership Council program, the Technology Users committee, a Compensation process review committee and other national initiatives. I have also spoken to the Board of Directors of CBIZ, the Emerging Director Academy program and other CBIZ constituencies. In my spare time you can usually find me hiking, traveling and/or spending time with family and friends.
