LindnrCo is an effort to take my Self offline and away from my daily pressurised digital environment. Drawing and ceramics are therapeutic and unhurried, the perfect way to shut out my busy work life. In 2020, I was contracted to provide product marketing strategy and support for Agile product teams. I now have a dual role as an advisor on marketing strategy, campaign conceptualistion, and product strategy for the portfolio.

Conceptualise and manage a 3-month educational programme designed to empower young adults to participate in the digital economy. 80 students were trained in digital marketing and basic website design to take back to their communities. Sponsored by Abaguquli, the programme ran concurrently in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape.

Business analysis for Western Cape Government to address digital transformation during lockdown, specifically authoring a Citizen Experience Strategy for eGovernment and Integrated citizen Engagement Protocols for eGovernment for Citizens.

As an independent contractor for Wunderman Thompson, I developed a Citizen Centricity strategy for Western Cape Government, conducted user research and evaluated the WCG portal. Co-facilitated a Human Centred Design workshop and contributed to their Design Thinking Support Tools Playbook.

Telling stories that matter in the 2nd largest newsroom in Africa, promoting local news for diverse South Africans, emphasising vernacular news, personal finance, women and youth. Founding member of Volt Africa, I acted as Strategic Operations, Creative Director, Product Manager for IOL News, and engineer of Independent Media’s Intern Programme. Campaign for #WeRemember, won Best in Social Engagement at DMA Africa, and Volt Lab was a 2018 INMA Award finalist.

Involved in Net Prophet since 2012, I redesigned the Sparkup! annual accelerator programme and pioneered South Africa's first live dragons-den style event, inviting industry experts, mentors and VCs to teach, inspire and invest in early stage startups from across the continent. I witnessed over 50 founding teams refine their business plans, make industry connections and secure investment.

I led brand and digital marketing strategies for Saratoga including PR and communications, contributing to corporate strategy, recruitment, staff retention, product development, in addition to UX on client projects. My integrated marketing approach balanced short-term campaigns with long-term community building initiatives such as the Mammoth BI conference in 2014.

“Stop browsing. Start building.” was early-stage US startup, Yola.com’s call to action to micro-businesses around the globe to join the digital economy. Splitting my time between Marketing and Product, I ensured alignment with company vision, consistent user experience and on-brand TTL marketing collateral. I watched the company grow from a few thousand to over 4 million users.

FUR design was a design cooperative founded by myself and two friends. Our versatile style, user centric philosophy and can-do attitude (and of course good design) earned us a stream of steady work for clients such as: City of Johannesburg, Western Cape Government, South African Tourism, Legacy Hotel Group, ArtThrob, South African Business Coalition of HIV/AIDS, M-Net, and The Mail and Guardian. I also lectured at Ruth Prowse School of Art.

I specialised in event-based campaigns and entertainment-related websites for M-Web and the Mail & Guardian, conceptualising campaigns, designing micro sites and related online advertising, and liaising with management, copywriters and developers.

I was initiated into the world of Internet design at Top New Media agency, FCB Electric Ocean. Here I learnt to hand-code HTML and CSS and I designed websites, kiosks and other TTL advertising material for blue-chip clients such as Allan Gray, Caltex, CapeSpan as well as the design of a weekly website for SABC3’s Digital Options.
