Finally, Ms. Gatling is actively pursuing lifelong passions. For decades she has produced many exciting events, including parades, campaign fundraisers, corporate picnics and office parties to name a few. As a photographer, she is working to improve her skills and expand her portfolio. Prior to establishing her independence; Ms.Gatling served as the Human Resources Manager for the State of Califorina at the Veterans Home in Lancaster, California. The Veterans Home is a Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE), an assisted living facility owned and operated by the California Department of Veterans Affairs and one of eight veterans homes throughout the state. Tasked with staffing the newly constructed facilitiy, Ms. Gatling recruited for all eight departments including nursing, housekeeping, plant operations, warehouse, transportation and administration. She admits the hiring process was exciting and the most rewarding part of her job. Adding her education and background in marketing and sales, probably contributed to her professional success. As personal mission she seeks to mentor young African American women in small business marketing. Working closely to recruit local Veterans and a diversified workforce was a major goal for Ms. Gatling and the community she served.
