I was recruited in as the company’s first CEO to implement infrastructure and resources to manage fast growing online business as well as increase physical footprint by opening more stores. • Sales – Grew sales from $19 million in 2019 to over $50 million in 2020 by revamping the website, implementing new Email Service provider and re-negotiating influencer agreements resulting in more traffic and saving $200k per year. Restructured management of unprofitable retail location and turned around to a $300k profit in 9 months as well as opened another profitable retail location.• Operations Management – Added over 100 employees in nine months by assessing deficiencies in customer service, fulfillment, Marketing and Merchandising. Took the company’s abandonment rate in customer service from 70% to 10% within six months. I also added four buyers that negotiated better margins and improved our gross margin by over 500 basis points. In addition, I opened a full scale fulfillment center to support stocking fast moving skus. • Finance – I hired the company’s first controller and began reporting financials on a GAAP basis and implemented weekly cashflow forecasting as well as complete monthly financials. Implemented new ERP system (Netsuite) as well as a warehouse Management system (Snapfulfil) • Personnel/organizational structure – Created organization structure from small family run business with one reporting line to multiple reporting based on leader from each department. Implemented employee handbook as well as standardized pay structure based on positions. In order to attract talent, I improved the benefits by adding health insurance as well as a 401k plan.
