The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and thoughtful youth who help create a better and more productive, peaceful environment through intercultural understanding of not only each other but in creating a working dynamic with those around them that is more purposeful and rigorous than that of the usual classroom working situation. I am a facilitator of this type of child, and the family dynamic as they progress into secondary education expectations, working to build within them the confidence to become something more than they were aware of. It is very rewarding.

It is my responsibility to encourage leadership and management styles for the children that support an environment conductive to the development of a rigorous learning community within the classroom. Trust engenders trust and the need to empower students is important and conveys not only powerful messages but builds confidence and helps young women and men to model the behavior expected of students who will soon be attending university classes. They are expected to care about the atmosphere and climate of learning created in the classrooms and corridors, become involved with school activities beyond the classroom, and provide academic, social, and emotional support to each other and it is my job to assist them is doing so by modeling appropriate behaviors and helping them to do the same. I am the person who will meet with guidance personnel to initiate an intervention for a child who is not performing well, whatever the reasons. I have grown to know the challenges of families especially working in the drug and alcohol program in Pinellas for 5 years. Teaching has changed so much since I first started and I am changing with it, developing new ideas and ways to encourage my students and the parents they live with. I was working in the Summer Youth Intern Program at Boley. My job duties include connecting with business partners in the community to help build and create our network of partners where the interns will begin working in hopes of furthering their network and building the work skills needed to keep them employed in hopes of finding a fulfilling career in our community. I have a current case load of 38 interns in the program and I am responsible for making sure the they understand their job description and responsibilities and that they get their time sheets and evaluations done every two weeks while in the program. The two amazing women that run the program are willing to talk to you and help you. If you need contact information please call Boley Centers and they will assist you. Club Z With The "No Child Left Behind Act" Administered Through The "Club Z"

Traveling throughout Pinellas County into homes of individuals in the evenings who had qualified for the grant and tutoring their young children by teaching them to read and helping them in various other subjects. The grant was designed to allow us to help these children get back on track with their grades and to help them attain the appropriate reading and math level according to their age. Students were given both a pre and post test to assess their reading and mathematics levels and to assess the effectiveness of the program and its teachers.
