Over the past 18 years, I have worked with a diverse population of youth/adolescents, and their families. I am registered with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors (OACYC) and a member of the Council of Canadian Child and Youth Care Associations (CCCYCA). I am also registered with the Association for Counselling and Attendance Services (OACAS) and certified as a Restorative Justice Facilitator. I offer counselling to children, youth/adolescents and their families. I also can provide behavioural strategies to help facilitate success in various environments. My practice is based on the Ecological Model (the interaction and integration of biological, behavioural, environmental and social determinants, as well as the influence of organisations (eg. workplace and schools), other persons (eg. family, friends and peers), and public policies all of which together help individuals make healthy choices in their daily lives). Applying an ecological approach can help to identify opportunities and intervene upon obstacles in the transactional processes between these systems. Together we can work together to bring about change, with the goal to minimize negative thoughts, work through feelings and remodel behaviours. I look forward to hearing from you.
