I won several statewide awards as a journalist, mostly for feature writing. As a reporter I covered crime, health and education. I later worked as a spokesperson for two large metro law enforcement agencies, so I have extensive experience working with the media both as a journalist and as a PR professional. I also founded and run an online group for people with epilepsy, or their caretakers.My goals now are to bring awareness to epilepsy, a widely misunderstood disease which, frankly, sucks. I'm writing a book about this condition to shed light on it.I also strongly advocate for victims' rights. My experience in criminal justice and my own personal tragedy has shown me just how callous the media can be when dealing with crimes.
