I was brought on board to aid the organization as it sought to develop and expand funding base in Southern California. I advised leaders on development expansion in this region as well as other key development/communications initiatives, and provided critical insights on giving landscape, donor motivation, and philanthropic priorities. I created a strategy for solicitation, engagement, and ongoing cultivation focused on key connectors, individual donors, and civic/foundation leaders in Southern California. My achievements include: ► Created Southern California philanthropic funding sources and initiated conversations with prospective donors.► Facilitated 5 and 6-figure multi-year grants from major foundations. Introduced CEO and Board Chair to foundations and philanthropists, leading to $125K in unrestricted gifts from new donors.► Conceptualized and created Donor Communications & Engagement Plan, including detailed tactics to increase donor investment and retention.► Launched and facilitated CALmatters’ 1st-ever online fundraising appeal to harness major foundation matching grant; worked with staff to implement best processes for ongoing development operations. 
► Served as supportive and responsive partner to senior leaders and Board of Directors.

I was hired by the new CEO to help build out philanthropic giving (non-existent at the time in KCRW) and launch/manage a multimillion-dollar capital campaign for a high-profile public media organization. I oversaw all major fundraising activities within the organization, establishing and executing the vision for all development goals, and built and directed a team of 7 on various fundraising initiatives. I created an aggressive cultivation events strategy to deepen engagement with donors and the community. I also served as a senior member of the executive team and a key advisor to the CEO. Past successes:► Launching and directing $20M capital campaign to build a new state-of-the-art facility as well as establish funds for new programming/technology endeavors. ► Raising $8M in campaign leadership gifts from the Board of Directors, foundations, and philanthropists, including a $2M gift from a leading foundation that represented KCRW’s single-largest gift at the time. Additionally I launched a new upper-level giving program that led to over $1M in annual funds.► Increasing financial contributions from the Board of Directors from $50K to $3.5M in 3 years, leading their transformation into a giving Board. Additionally, I recruited and brought on 16 new members with needed expertise, profile, and capacity, as well as expanding the budget to $17M (20% increase).► Built the Development department from scratch into a 7-person team, recruiting top talent from multiple organizations while integrating/championing a culture of philanthropy organization-wide.► Expanded the grant program to raise programmatic funds from major foundations and government agencies, including 1st-time grants from National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and CalHumanities.

I was hired to oversee and revitalize the Corporate Membership program, with a focus on raising corporate sponsorship funds. I analyzed existing program and identified areas for improvement. I am proud to have:► Exceeded the annual fundraising goal by 50%, raising $2.3M from corporations and foundations. Reinvigorated relationships with existing donors while fostering and solidifying new relationships. ► Solicited and fulfilled corporate sponsorships valued at over $500K for high-profile museum opening gala and week-long series of community/family events. ► Developed and presented proposals that generated over $700K in sponsorships for exhibitions and $200K for LACMA's award-winning educational/cultural programming.
