I was responsible for leading the team members in the Financial Operations Department where our duties included managing the Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations. During this time I helped develop various policies and procedures for functions within these areas such as company credit cards, PTO policies, employee phone allowances, employee commissions, company fuel card programs, online vendor payment solutions, document workflow and several other projects. My involvement with Garland Animal Wellness started when the company was just an idea by its founder. I had assisted with preparing forecasts and budgets for this start-up company and later helped write the business plan. While I enjoyed my position as Controller for Oak Tree National, I was intrigued by the thought of being a part of a new company with such great potential. When Garland was funded by our primary investor, I resigned from Oak Tree National and began the process of setting up the new company. It was an exciting adventure and I am grateful to have been a part of it.

Being a part of one of Golf Digest’s Top 100 golf courses in America was one of the most enjoyable positions I have had in my career. When I first joined the team in 2008, the course was undergoing a major renovation after a recent ownership change. Shortly after the renovation was complete, it was announced that OTN would be hosting the 2014 U.S. Senior Open in 2014. Preparing for an event of that magnitude takes years, and I was a part of that process during the majority of my time at the organization.I was responsible for all of the club’s financial operations including the preparation of monthly management reporting to the ownership group, member billing and receivables, processing payroll and managing employee benefits and human resources, risk management, maintaining membership contracts and records, assisting with the coordination of club tournaments and events, cash management, budgeting and forecasting and several other duties as needed. My favorite part of working at Oak Tree National was being part of delivering a first class experience to the membership of the club. I learned a great deal about doing things with great attention to detail and excellence.

My last role at Dobson Communications was the most challenging, and also the most rewarding. Our company had grown to over 2,500 employees in 17 states and we had over 1,000 sales employees and agent commission contracts with over 600 dealers. During this time, I led the Payroll, Commissions and Financial Reporting teams which included a total of 12 staff members. Together we administered a sales compensation program using an in-house data warehouse developed by our Information Services team. Our teams worked very well together and we were able to provide detailed analysis of results and trends to the Sales and Customer Care departments which helped us provide a better experience to over 1 million Dobson Communications customers.Dobson Communications was acquired by AT&T in 2007. After 10 years with the company, I helped coordinate the last transitions of duties to other departments within AT&T in June, 2008. It was truly a pleasure to be part of such a great company during such an exciting time.

My team was responsible for coordinating the operating and capital budget process for over 60 cost centers. We worked closely with corporate departmental leaders and regional executives to administer the financial reporting process using OLAP databases using the Hyperion Essbase platform. We were responsible for month-end close procedures and preparation of consolidated financial statements to senior management.

My first duties as a new staff member of the Accounting Department at Dobson Communications involved standardizing all managerial reports and automating internal financial reporting processes. I prepared consolidated financial statements for senior management, maintained the company's chart of accounts and prepared inter-company reconciliations and cost allocations.

During the majority of my last year at ACRS, I served as Controller and had overall responsibility for overseeing the billing, payroll, accounts payable and general ledger functions for the company. I provided extensive cash flow analysis and other reporting to the C.E.O. and coordinated external audits and worked closely with the audit team from Ernst & Young. I also served as the on-site manager for a long distance reseller subsidiary as well as Treasurer for a subsidiary utility construction operation.Leaving ACRS was a difficult decision for me because I loved the company and had close relationships with many of my co-workers there. A large portion of the staff were recent college graduates and this was the first “real job” for many of us. We worked a lot of long hours together and formed long-lasting friendships during these years.

My first duties at ACRS involved assisting with the preparation of financial cost studies for independent telephone companies across Oklahoma. I also provided support for financial models supporting proposed engineering projects. I was also responsible for preparing and submitting National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) and Oklahoma Toll Pool Association monthly settlement reports.
