Hired at The Post as a copy editor in the Financial department in July 1993, went on to be Financial Graphics Editor and Local Business Editor before being named the newsroom's first Web editor in 1999. I held that role during some of the biggest stories of the nascent digital age including the election recount of 2000, 9/11, the beginning of the war in Afghanistan and the D.C. sniper attacks of 2002. I then became a features editor in a variety of roles, including KidsPost and the Weekend section. I also wrote a parenting column called MomSpeak. Named senior editor in 2013 and deputy managing editor in 2014.

Hired as a copy editor on the State Desk, I worked as copy desk chief on the Neighbors Desk and was an assistant city editor when I left to join The Post.
