My role at Actua is to support and strengthen Actua's network and to help build Actua's national capacity as a leading science and technology outreach organization for youth. I manage an amazing team of people, and we have stewarded the growth of the network by 25% over 5 years. From Whitehorse to St. John's, we work with an incredible network of program directors. One of my current areas of focus is on the training and development of the incredible group of post-secondary students who deliver most of our programs across Canada. Actua is a registered charity with a twenty five year track record of success in providing hands-on, interactive education enrichment experiences in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics (STEM) to Canadian youth aged 6 to 16 years. Actua's strength is the scope of our national reach and geographic footprint. We deliver programming in every province and territory, reaching 225,000 young Canadians in 450-500 communities nationwide each year. Our focus is on engaging youth who are typically underrepresented and underserved in STEM. Actua invests heavily in breaking down barriers to science literacy and is a national leader in the development and delivery of customized programming for Indigenous youth, girls, and other youth facing socio-economic challenges.

Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day and project work of the association in meeting its mission, which is to build capacity for its members to inspire a creative and prosperous Canada through science and technology engagement. As the association's first-full-time staff member, I was responsible for developing, from the ground up, many processes and programs run by the association. During my time there, the association grew from having just 30 member organizations to 75 members with a full-time staff member, regular interns, project teams and more than 10 member program and services spanning the key association roles of advocacy, communication and professional development.

Volunteer Board position responsible for coordinating all racing activities at the club. Managed a structure of more than 50 volunteers to organize summer racing events for more than 150 boats.

My role was to interact with the visitors to the centre by answering questions, seeking out visitors to help facilitate exhibit material, as well as to perform demonstrations and workshops.

Constructed debates, discussions quizzes and other learning aids in a series of tutorials to augment the lectures and readings for approximately 30 students in two courses; HPS 280 - History of Science for Engineers and ENV 321 - Approaches to Environmental Issues.
