The California Consumer Power and Conservation Financing Authority (California Power Authority, or CPA) was created by Chapter 10x, Statutes of 2001 (SB 6x, Burton), to assure a reliable supply of power to Californians at just and reasonable rates, including planning for a prudent energy reserve. Responsible for development of renewable energy and distributed energy generation financing and market procurement programs and policies, including identifying projects for public investment. Key impacts: was Governor’s liaison to Cabinet Secretaries and Agency Directors critical to managing the California Energy Crisis, developed the State of California’s renewable energy procurement infrastructure; developed most of today’s current incentive policies for renewable and clean distributed energy generation. Specialized knowledge in regulatory and infrastructure issues of state finance, education, state contracting and procurement, energy, housing, and trade and commerce/small business. Flex Your Power: California's statewide energy efficiency marketing and outreach campaign. The 2001-2002 Flex Your Power was funded by the legislature for $110 million in response to the needs seen by the energy crisis and operated through the State and Consumer Services Agency (SCSA). The large 2001-2002 efforts included an advertising campaign and 13 initiatives. The initiatives involved education, outreach, and partnering with a variety of leadership and organizations to obtain commitments to reduce energy usage (often by 20%) and to reach many people and businesses across many sectors in California. This included state leadership, local government, BOMA/SEUI janitors, CEOs, energy education in schools, nonprofits, door-to-door information and CFLs in low-income neighborhoods, agriculture education and load-shifting, saving energy through saving water, small business, promoting efficient appliances, lighting, and home improvement, Grocery Store Customer Awareness, and college campus outreach. Managed statewide CIOs and headquarters team, represented campaign with cabinet-level leaders and stage agency/local government programs; assisted in developing and delivering call-to-action and education messaging across every sector of constituency in California in order to draw down 5,000 MW of energy usage through energy efficiency actions and measures during the energy crisis in California.

California Elected Women's Association for Education and Research - CEWAER (former name) is a nonpartisan non-profit association serving elected and appointed women and men of California (the largest of its kind in US). Led research and policy development project in issues of state and local governments, transportation (high-speed rail), housing, local and regional economic development, workforce preparation, health policy, elected and appointed leadership development, public education, legislative and public and private finance infrastructures, and women’s issue advocacy.
