My role is to provide order to a chaotic world and in chaotic circumstances. I’ve grown a strong database of supporters across mixed market sectors through networking and building relationships, ensuring sustainable income and opportunity for growth and development. Responsibilities and achievements include:• Overseeing the strategic operations of the running of the project• Developed a fundraising team and strategy, bringing turnover up to £750,000 from £250,000 • Influenced the evolution of the charity as a member of the senior executive team • Developed a marketing and communications strategy to grow the profile of the organisation leading to new income and relationship opportunities• Delivered presentations to business professionals and community groups highlighting the work of the charity and building new relationships• Developed new events to bring in a wide range of new supporters, highlight the work of the charity and raise income as well as profile

I offered marketing advice to start up businesses through the Enterprise Centre at Sheffield Hallam and held hourly sessions once a month. Included was a bi-monthly workshop on how to make an impact.

I was President for Sheffield Junior Chamber of Commerce in 2004 and was delighted to be awarded most outstanding President in the World. Previously I worked as Yorkshire Regional Group Chairman in 2007, UK National Marketing Director in 2006, and also acted as mentor to 4 JCI Sheffield Presidents.

I managed a team and up to 50 volunteers, completing various appeals for one of the largest cancer charities in the UK. Alongside raising £3.5M, significant achievements include:• Establishing my relationship building and fundraising expertise, for example:- Successful bid writing to secure charitable trust income- Managing a variety of fundraising events raising from £1,000 to over £20,000- Growing participation of leading national event by 54% locally - Appeal Manager for Horizons Appeal, successfully raising £1.25 million in Sheffield to fund building of the palliative care unit at Northern General Hospital • Made presentations to a wide variety of organisations and groups• Written and published quarterly newsletter including patient stories and promotion of local events• Built up profile of Macmillan Cancer Support through media including press, radio and television• Ran Appeal Office on minimal budget to ensure success of Appeals; a maximum of 20% cost:income• Worked with local Macmillan Committees to ensure up to date information is shared and continuity of larger community events• Put together local budgets and actions plans with built-in flexibility to accommodate changes as required and keep to targets
