After being hired as Director, Projects - Midstream to recover a handful of complex projects for this growth oriented publicly traded company (NYSE: CDI), I was promoted in Feb. 2017 to VP, Project Delivery for the Energy & Chemicals businesses. In addition, I was also appointed to serve as the Industry Executive and senior technical advisor to the Midstream Industry. ~50 Project Managers, schedulers, cost controllers, other licensed professionals, and skilled laborers report to me - either directly or indirectly. On October 13, 2017, CDI Corporation was acquired, via stock purchase, by a large, highly reputable strategic investor: AE Industrial Partners (AEI) moving the company into the private sector. Under AEI's governance, my goal was to execute our projects well - managing scope, schedule, and cost to achieve on-time and on-budget quality solutions for our numerous clients bringing CDI closer to achieving its vision of being the most ethical, most reliable, high value EPCM firm for small to mid-cap projects.

I led the Engineering, Construction, Integrity Management, Information Technology, Project Management, and EH&S functional areas for this publicly traded growth-oriented midstream operating partnership. In March 2015, the company publicly reported “that [the American Team] delivered on their strategy by… executing significant asset development projects” and that the “record fourth quarter and full year results reflected the successful execution of [American’s] growth strategy in 2014.” American Midstream Partners, LP (AMID) was formed in August 2009 to own, operate, develop and acquire a diversified portfolio of midstream energy assets. At the time of my tenure, AMID was engaged in the business of gathering, treating, processing, fractionating and transporting natural gas and oil through our ownership and operation of ten gathering systems, two processing facilities, three interstate pipelines and five intrastate pipelines. AMID owned a 50% undivided, non-operating interest in a processing plant located in southern Louisiana. AMID's primary assets, which are strategically located in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, provide critical infrastructure that links producers and suppliers of natural gas to diverse natural gas markets, including various interstate and intrastate pipelines, as well as utility, industrial and other commercial customers. AMID operated approximately 2,300 miles of pipelines that gather and transport over 1 Bcf/d of natural gas and own approximately 1.7 million barrels of storage capacity across four terminals.

Leading an integrated international team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Safety Professionals in the initiation, planning, control, and execution of a multi-million dollar portfolio of pipeline integrity projects for all US natural gas and Canadian / US Oil pipelines. My role was accountable for the planning and execution of pipeline integrity projects including the Cathodic Protection Program, the ILI anomaly dig response program, the geotechnical and seismic repair programs, class location changes, third party line strikes, ECDA projects, and other emergent operations to increase reliability and maintain integrity of our systems. My position is responsible and accountable for full P&L. In addition, my team continued to execute pipeline integrity projects in Mexico.

As Manager of the US and Mexico Pipeline Maintenance Projects Division, I led an integrated international team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Safety Professionals in the initiation, planning, control, and execution of a multi-million dollar US and Mexican portfolio of projects and programs for North America's largest energy infrastructure corporation.I lead the Cathodic Protection Program, the ILI anomaly dig response program, the geotechnical and seismic repair programs, class location changes, third party line strikes, ECDA projects, and other emergent operations to increase reliability and maintain integrity of our systems. My position is responsible and accountable for full P&L.

Promoted to the Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) to lead a team of Project Standard Engineers through the development and implementation of project management processes for maintenance capital, clean air, pipeline integrity, commercial pipeline, commercial compression, and interconnect projects.As Manager, the standards were maintained and documented in the Project Management Guidelines, which were authored under the authority of the PMO, and set forth the minimum requirements for developing and executing projects by the PM teams. My primary objective ensured that the benefits obtained by the guidelines exceeded the input effort by the PMs. To accomplish this, scalability and repeatability of the authored guidelines was paramount while balancing the management of a multimillion dollar department budget. In the end, my position ensured that the PMO customers, including Engineering Directors, Managers of Engineering and Project Managers, were engaged, had their expectations managed, and that the El Paso Cororation sucessfully and safely executed its approximate eight billion dollar portfolio of projects.

Employed as a Principal Project Management Professional in the Commercial (Value Added) Projects Management group overseeing large capital energy expansion projects (>$15MM USD) and programs (>$50MM USD). Accountable for the design, financial, contractual and other project related activities to support increased rates of return. These activities included managing and creating interactive Microsoft Project schedules; risk management activiites, such as Monte Carlo simulation for contingency planning; and, successful stakeholder engagement and management.With a success rate of over 99%, I have consistenly brought in projects and programs 10-11% below budget and ahead of schedule for Southern Natural Gas Company, Southern Liquefied Natural Gas Company and Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company. For three years straight, I was rated by my direct management as a superior employee who "Exceeded Expectations."

Engineered and manufactured high capacity steam autoclaves, accompanying automation, robotics and material handling systems. Initial job duties included complex piping, and advanced machine / conveyor designs. Further duties included the creation of detailed engineering general arrangements, P&ID’s, layouts and other specialized drawings using an advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Solid Works 3-D modeling packages. FEA studies using Cosmos Works packages were also performed to support advanced designs. Several of these designs led to United States patents and PTO applications. Promoted from a staff mechanical engineer to Manager of Engineering – Retorts and then to the Director of Engineering. As Director of Engineering, five staff and several outside contract employees were directly supervised. Further duties included fabrication supervision of final designs. A detailed understanding of sheet metal fabrication, laser cut and press brake systems, CNC mill / lathe operations, and multiple stainless steel welding procedures was acquired. Familiarity with ASME codes and standards was also learned. Acquired the company an ASME “U” and “R” stamp whereby we certified numerous ASME unfired pressure vessels. Appointed by management as the corporate safety and quality control manager in an ISO 9001 type environment. Utility system support was also provided on advanced steam and condensate drain systems. Theoretical steam, electricity and air consumption calculations were also performed. Instrument, piping and an array of other specifications and purchase orders were created and managed.

Engineered and designed advanced control and instrumentation systems in a consulting environment for offshore oil, onshore oil and gas, mining and industrial applications. The designs included: electro-pneumatic panels; advanced relay logic control panels, various RTU, PLC and DCS architectures and programming; high voltage electrical substations, flare systems; reciprocating and centrifugal compressor skids with integral engine, turbine and electric motor drives (Induction/VFD and Synchronous systems); and specialized production facilities.Responsible for the timely production, certification and issue of detailed loop, wiring, installation and layout drawings; ISA specifications sheets; piping and instrument diagrams and, instrument purchase orders/requisitions. Further duties included direct client communications, system start-up, turnover and commissioning. Promoted to lead department engineer for several large scale oil and gas companies such as El Paso Energy LLC, Conoco and ExxonMobil clients.Expert operator of most standard computer software packages including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access applications. Well versed in network technology and software, Windows 7 operating systems, mail servers and other productivity packages. Capable of drawing in AutoCAD, Silver Screen, SolidWORKS®, INVENTOR® and ProE® applications.
