Systems DeveloperIrongate Machine Inc. Aug 2014 - Jan 2018As a one-person development team, I designed, built, and maintained dozens of small to medium sized applications. I helped save numerous hours of tedious manual data entry by implementing a wide variety of console (VB.NET/C#), web (ASP.NET/C#/HTML5/CSS3/JS), WinForm (VB.NET), and MS Excel (VBA) applications.Example projects include: - Machine Tool Manager - Saved 10 hours per week - Compiled multiple datasets to report on which tool assets were currently installed in the CNC equipment and which one needed to be installed - Path Structure - Saved upwards of 2 hours per week and countless in upkeep - A passive file system auditing tool that monitored each user's Windows Explorer activity, providing quick tools for appropriately naming common files. Also integrated with other systems to automate file migration and naming conventions. - Program Management - Saved upwards of 1 hour per person, per week (~10hrs/week) - Streamlined and automated backing up CNC programs to the server instead of locally on the equipment (which posed a security risk). Full revision control with meta data to the production information allowed for easy navigation and transparency with management over changes to production processes.

Cmm OperatorExotic Metals Forming Co Llc Jan 2013 - Jan 2014Irvine, Ca, UsProgrammed and operated Coordinate Measuring Machine. Primary duty was to inspect production parts to the engineering specs and develop the CMM programs to perform the inspections. Secondary duties included troubleshooting quality issues and integrate quality data into a feedback loop with part production processes. This is where I truly began teaching myself .NET, developing a few tools to speed up CMM programming. I was able to program complex CMM parts in 1/4 the time from my more experience coworker, allowing us to both focus on improving the actual production processes. -
Laser Operator 2Exotic Metals Forming Co Llc Jul 2011 - Jan 2013Irvine, Ca, UsProgrammed and operated 5-Axis Lasers (NdYAG and Fiber). Primary duties were to carry out production operations of drilling and/or cutting parts with various 5-Axis Lasers and inspecting the results. Secondary duties included maintaining the equipment, programming (G-Code), and maintaining Lean concepts in the workplace.I found an interest in .NET programming from this position, identifying ways that tedious tasks could be automated with a simple WinForm application. I conceptualized and developed a handful of simple WinForm apps (VB.NET) to help myself and coworkers find documents easier and monitor the CNC machines.Noticing my knack for programming, my supervisors allowed me to experiment with advanced G-Code programming and implementing a Wiki site for the department. My work on advanced G-Code programming helped lead the way towards high quality production and easier cross-training due to the simplified production process. My work on the Wiki site helped keep the department stay on top of common troubleshooting issues when CNC equipment would break down.
