As Regional Manager, I have overall responsibility for a workforce of 200 staff across 3 distribution centres; New Zealand, Victoria and Western Australia. Working closely with three Operations Managers who directly report to me, my team ensures the accurate processing of orders and efficient flow of product distribution to specific stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Woolworths has one of the largest networks of Distribution Centres in Australia and have developed a National Transport Strategy that aims to achieve many outcomes. Key amongst these are improving safety, improving the impact our supply chain has on the environment and our community alongside maintaining and improving cost and service to our customers. This role was responsible for managing 540 employees and managing business operations in NSW.I worked with the management team coordinating and compiling operating budgets, monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and assisted with strategic planning to support group objectives, delivering revenue and profitability growth within the region in line with company targets, whilst reducing costs and increasing productivity of the business.I provided strong leadership in order to promote a culture which encourages a high level of employee engagement and develop and support a cross functional culture of continuous improvement. I believe in managing, developing and creating a high performing culture ensuring my team achieves operational and service excellence.I delivered programs and initiatives that provide cost efficiencies and ensuring the development and implementation of robust operational processes and establish consistency in operating standards across the site and creating an overall culture of awareness and compliance to safety, health and environmental legislation and the group policy.I developed overall labour and capital plans for the state, and varied such plans as necessary to ensure that these valuable resources were fully utilised, trained and developed to increase productivity, reduce inefficiency and maximise profitability of the business.I was seconded as a subject matter expert to work on a project called "Fuel For Growth" which looked at the future direction of the Logistics Framework to drive business transformation and success well into future.

Managing 250 employees, and reporting to the State Logistics Manager, this role was responsible for the Liquor Logistics operations, in Queensland and ensuring the financial direction for the state was in line with company strategic direction.

This role was responsible for the complete Transport Operations servicing Woolworths Supermarkets and Liquor outlets in Queensland and Northern NSW, reporting directly to the State Logistics Manager.I managed the relationships of major transport contractors across QLD including Linfox and Toll.I provided strong leadership in order to promote a culture which encourages a high level of employee engagement. I led and motivated transport and senior management teams through the use of effective management processes and developed a cohesive relationship between the DC and Transport operations teams. I benchmarked the performance of the team with other sites and 3PL’s across the company by analysing, reviewing and implementing changes and initiatives based on the findings. I conducted workshops and training to drive improvements and instil a high level of customer service consistency differentiating our approach from the competition. I worked closely with Regional Supermarket Management, Distribution Centre, Transport and 3PL operations teams to deliver improved efficiency in daily transport operations, stock control and delivery efficiency initiatives to improve the bottom line.I ensured the provision of safe equipment and that maintenance schedules are met and assisted customers with stock control, ensuring that quality, quantity and re ordering was on time to reduce the risk of excess stock or reduced sales due to stock outs. I developed and implemented contingency plans to ensure business continuity during special events and disaster management.

I was responsible for Woolworths Townsville Produce Regional Distribution Centre, including both the ambient and temperature controlled Distribution Centres and reported directly to the State Logistics Manager. My responsibilities included safety, service level, people, budget expectations, site facilities and maintenance as well as contributing to the achievement of what is 20% of the Woolworths National Logistics network. I led the implementation of cost saving initiatives as well as the continuous focus on improvement in safety, efficiency in service and development capability. I efficiently managed three Regional Distribution Centres servicing 250 stores across Queensland and Northern New South Wales. I led and motivated the senior management team as well as engaged and mentored direct reports through the use of effective people management processes, building their capability to achieve team and individual objectives as well as provided strong leadership in order to promote a culture which encourages a high level of employee engagement.I ensured safe working practices are adhered to, ensuring the provision of safe facilities and equipment as well as promoting safety, policy and procedures and to develop future leaders within the business.
