Taopix is an international software company, whose technology helps businesses sell photo products. I was responsible for most of the design work in the company and covered a range of tasks that included photography, content creation, web design, brand alignment, large format exhibition design, design for digital and print, marketing, social media, animation and video.I managed the graphic design team which consisted of myself and a junior designer.

Working at the award winning branding agency, Glad Creative was a gratifying experience. To be surrounded by such talent was inspiring and the friendly competitive nature of the team encouraged a good culture.I joined Glad within it’s first year of business as a junior designer. Working with Dave, the creative director and the growing team over two years was a great experience. It was a privilege working with others who shared a passion for top class design on projects for Alvarez Guitars, V&A, Amazon, Tesco and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Moving to a middleweight designer position saw me taking more responsibility for jobs, seeing them through from start to end with more independence. Attending client meetings, quoting for jobs and dealing directly with clients were tasks that I was responsible for. Being in charge of selecting and bringing in placements saw me delegating work, managing their progress and ensuring their fulfilment during their time with us. Taking opportunities to show my passion, I became the photographer for the company, responsible for all photography, internally and externally. A position that I relished during my time with Glad; shooting and editing all the images on the company website and providing bespoke imagery for clients such as Alvarez Guitars and FlyPay.Other areas that I have gained valuable experience in include art-working print, digital design and image retouching/manipulation.

Meeting an eclectic mix of people around Newcastle's famous nightlife scene was my favourite part of working for IAMVIP as an event photographer. Capturing priceless moments for countless special occasions, in still photography and video provided a real sense of satisfaction. Often working alone, I was to required to document the night, capturing the lively atmosphere for promotional purposes. Some nights I was required to sell keyrings as keepsakes to party goers. This gave me the confidence to approach strangers with the intent of making a sale. The challenges I faced during this job included handling the constantly changing lighting, working a very busy environment and of course, dealing with inebriated people, which gave me a thick skin and a lot of patience.Whist at IAMVIP I was also pursued opportunities to shoot interiors for clients such as LuigiKhans Punjabi restaurant, Ryokan Best Western and The Waterside hotel.
