This institution is celebrating its silver jubilee this year. It was earlier (for the past 25 years),located at and sharing infrastructure and human resources with Manipal Institute of Technology. But now has a separate independent premises and has its own faculty, non teaching staff and infrastructure. It definitely is one of the best Polytechnic colleges in India in terms of facilities and environment is concerned. For the next few years it will be in extensive process of updating its laboratories and other infrastructure, comparable to some of the Engineering colleges. Apart from diploma courses being offered in 8 Engineering disciplines, it also offers vocational courses for the youth who are not in a position to take up graduate or diploma courses due to various reasons.Many of our students after successfully completing diploma courses, are in a position to get lateral entry for the respective Engineering graduation courses in different Engineering colleges.The placement records of the out going students is also excellent.
