I teach Finance courses at to students in programs such as BS Finance, MS Quantitative Finance, and occasionally PhD Finance, among others such as BS Math with Finance concentration. My UTA teaching portfolio includes Financial Markets & Institutions, International Corporate Finance, Mathematical Finance, Financial Data Analytics, Investments, Corporate Finance, and most interestingly, Student Managed Investment Fund.Starting in Fall 2024, I have taken over the role of Chief Investment Advisor for SMIF - Student Managed Investment Fund - where our students manage a six-figure real-money portfolio. I also mentor a team of 5 to represent UTA at CFA Institute Research Challenge, a prestigious investment analysis competition for college students.Since Fall 2023, I have been the acting Faculty Advisor for Finance Society - a student-run academic organization. I work with the officers in the back stage, and as a liaison between the student club and our Department, to make sure they get as much as support as possible for them to run successful events. UTA Finance Society has long been a Superior Chapter under FMA (Financial Management Association), another highly acknowledged organization in the field of finance research and industry.Another service since Fall 2022 is to serve as Assistant Chair. I help with administrative items on the student success side such as recruiting students for UTIMCO summer internships or alum engagement. Additionally, I had some experience taking the role of Assistant Director of Financial Literacy Program. My contribution was mainly in website management and content creation and I plan to continue doing so through SMIF website.Besides teaching and services, I do independent research in empirical corporate finance topics, such as financial flexibility, international finance, corporate governance, emerging markets, family firms, among others.

Being a liberal art college professor means designing everything around student success. Within five years, I have taught four different courses to students in Business majors, Finance major, and MBA programs. I have mentored multiple undergraduate research projects, both with and without financial awards. Out of these four mentees, two graduated as outstanding scholars of their respective programs (Accounting, Finance), one also won our campus-wide Family Business Plan competition and is now a happy small business owner, and the last one is still in school but getting an internship from my references. I have also been the faculty advisor for the teams in the CFA Research Challenge competition at our local/ regional level. One of the students graduated and got recruited by Goldman Sachs in New York City, another got admitted to University of Rochester MS Data Science and got featured as the outstanding scholar of the program. I have been nominated for the Presidential Excellence in Teaching Award, the Academic Advisor Award, and the Second-Year Champion Award due to my interactions with students, including transfer students. I have also served as a member of the Scholarship Committee for School of Business and Management, a senator at College Senate for the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, a secretary/ member of the Board of Director for Brockport Auxiliary and Services Company, and a member of the Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Committee at SUNY level. Besides teaching and services, my research interests include corporate governance, liquidity policy, managerial behavior, social responsibilities, real estate finance, and international studies. I am also expanding my reading into cross-field areas that Finance and Real Estate share with other disciplines for potential co-authorship, where I can contribute economic insights into non-economic matters such as urban financial economics, and transportation land use.

From my Ph.D. batch, I was the only one to start teaching from my first year. I was also the only one to have received Dean's "Outstanding Graduate Teaching Associate" award (2015-2016 academic year).Over the course of five years, I have accumulated invaluable experience dealing with class sizes ranging from 18 to 140, as well as managing intensive summer courses.Lecturer / Instructor / Grader / Graduate Teaching Assistant of Corporate Business Finance, Investments, Real Estate Fundamentals, Financial Literacy and Personal Finance, International Corporate Finance, Advanced Business Management, Financial Modeling.
