At Wake, during my first year, I noticed that there was a lack of student-led accessible preprofessional development on campus especially amongst underrepresented groups. So I got together my friends Gia, Calista, and Mason to found Young Professionals Organization. Our vision for the organization is to develop first-year students professionally through resume building, interview prep, network development, and employer engagement. We plan on using resources such as the OPCD, WFU Business School, and Alumni connections to develop our members. We currently have over 30 freshmen in our organization and plan on expanding via the recruitment of new first years annually. It is important to note that our members don't have to be pre-business but we will help those who are interested in applying stay on track. We hope that our current members can also develop into mentors for incoming students. I served as the organization's first President and have moved to an advisory role where I am developing key relationships and plans to promote the longevity of YPO far past my graduation. By my senior year, we will have led the expansion of WFU YPO into an organization of over 120 members and a pillar within the university.

A sophomore year fellowship in which I will go through all of Financeable's training modules with a weekly 2-hour live training session to recap the material. On top of this, I get access to industry mentorship and like-minded peers, as well as complete other assignments dedicated to making me a well-rounded finance professional. As a part of the fellowship, I was flown into NYC to participate in an intensive 4-day finance boot camp at Columbia Business School.

In charge of leading the Harvard Case Competition and new member training.

I worked with the Atkins Group at Baird for 12 weeks and spent a lot of time in equity research, bond research, and ETF due diligence. I got a chance to contribute to team meetings and listen in on client calls.

My first-ever finance job, I researched a lot of different companies and formulated arguments for or against them. Something I loved about the job was the access to so many seasoned investors and being able to pick their brains.

Note to Self: Don't show up with a bad haircut, little kids are vicious...

This was my first experience working in an office. I learned never to wear khaki joggers and always to bring a notebook to meetings. I put up hundreds of signs and prevented a couple of injuries in the process.
