A CHIP facilitator is trained and then signs a licensing agreement that allows them to run CHIP programs in a corporate or community setting without regards to territorial constraints. Our licensed facilitators are considered independent contractors of the Lifestyle Medicine Institute (the entity that owns the intellectual properties of CHIP).All facilitators are responsible for promoting and recruiting all their participants and must use all approved materials for marketing their programs. Because the clinical information is included in the videos and text materials, our facilitators do not necessarily need to have clinical knowledge. The focus of their job is to facilitate the group discussions after the participants have viewed the videos and to give the participants the opportunity to discuss what they have heard. This enables them to make comments on how they may be able to apply what they learned to their daily lifestyle habits, which is a critical part of the transformational process. The best facilitators are able to empathize with their participants and encourage them as they move along in their journey to better health.
