I have over 26 years of experience in the field of research and development gaining experience at Wayne State University, Pfizer Global Research and Development and TransPharm Preclinical Solutions. My vast experience includes veterinary surgery, model development, and designing/performing PK/PD and efficacy studies. I’ve served as president of the Michigan AALAS, and have extensive experience in running animal research facilities under all the requirements of USDA, AAALAC and institutional IACUCs. I have provided exposure/activity data for preclinical packages on several drug candidates, and have experience developing, validating, and optimizing a wide variety of disease models, with different model organisms and microbial pathogens for numerous indications. With my expertise in developing new techniques, I have provided new models that supported Phase IV studies to get approval for new indications of marketed drugs as well as developed models for new disease targets such as sepsis.Specialties: TransPharm is an AAALAC accredited facility specializing in animal models of infectious disease. Our focus is bacterial pathogens, but we have experience in parasitic, fungal and viral models.
