Dr. Sughran Banerjee , qualified from Burdwan Medical College with a gold medal in Medicine. He subsequently completed his basic surgical training working in Kolkata, Birmingham and London . He obtained the certificate of completion of basic surgical training from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. He then worked as the specialist registrar at Barts and The London, and was Coxen Fellow at Barts & The London. He had his trauma training at this centre of excellence for trauma. He then worked as Senior Fellow, also at the specialist registrar level at the Royal Free & UCL NHS trust for two years, where he obtained his training in Upper limb surgery and Knee Surgery working in some of the best units. He got the fellowship of the Shoulder Unit at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth after this and worked simultaneously as a research fellow at the Imperial College London, obtaining his Doctorate in Orthopaedics & Bioengineering. He also got the prestigious SICOT diploma in Orthopaedics and Traumatology as an exit examination. He has been elected a member of SICOT. He then worked as a specialist registrar at the Orthopaedic Sports Injuries unit at the Charing Cross Hospital, London. He has published and presented in many prestigious journals and international conferences. He attended as trainee and faculty at international courses and workshops and continuously updates his knowledge and expertise. He is a member of the British Trauma Society and the Royal Society of Medicine, Indian Arthroscopy Society & SICOTHis principal interest lies in arthroscopic surgery(shoulder , elbow , wrist, knee and ankle),Sports-injuries( arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair and chondroplasty, ankle arthroscopy, Stabilisation & cuff repair in shoulder) and arthroplasty of knee and shoulder.He does complex trauma surgery as well.Specialties: Trauma/ Arthroscopic surgery/Shoulder & Knee arthroplasty
