I am part of a team of strategic health planners that focuses on community outreach and public health collaboration. We approach health priorities with a policy, systems, and environmental lens to help all community members have access to fair and just opportunities to achieve healthy lives. My work includes:- Participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of community health assessments/improvement plans;- Building and sustaining relationships with partners and community members;- Leading or supporting community coalitions and forums, such as the Davis Food Environment Workgroup, Davis Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, Davis Active Transportation Committee, and Davis Links;- Serving as the health department contact for improving the department’s physical infrastructure, programs, and web/print materials to increase accessibility for those with disabilities; and - Facilitating community focus groups to better understand the needs of community members who often experience disadvantage due to inequitable systems.

I worked in the Healthy Living (EPICC) Program and focused on strategies related to physical activity, nutrition, and breastfeeding in worksite wellness, school health, active (human-powered) transportation, and childcare settings. I led a statewide coalition (Utah Action for Heathy Kids) for two years and founded and/or led other local coalitions (Weber Pedestrian Task Force, OgdenCAN Healthy Lifestyles Workgroup). Also, I supervised Health Promotion interns for two years.
