"Professionally", I am a team manager. I have led teams numbering from four to eleven people. Various responsibilities have included items related to; audit compliance, new client orientation, onboarding (both new accounts and new employees), interviewing, training, and succession planning. In addition to the items listed above, my teams have been responsible for the day to day relationship maintenance required of a team in an account executive environment.Primarily, my goals are focused on the short term with my team from a professional standpoint. I am actively trying to foster a more cohesive team unit. I am ultimately seeking to bring my team to a point where they will be able to function effectively with or without my presence. I believe that is the mark of an effective manager. To that end, I have engaged my team in numerous activities designed to encourage each individual team member to learn to trust their peers. It is still a work in progress. Some of my team members are further along than others, but I have seen development from all parties.Outside of work, I am working on a novel.
