My duties as a network operations manager included developing a premier team of sixteen individuals that functions 24x7 to monitor and trouble shoot all remote WAN/LAN (700+ sites), campus LAN (over 1,500 users), and internet circuits. My team is responsible for VPN setup/support, Active Directory user setup, campus and remote VOIP/analog communications, all network connections to each device on site(21,000+), project implementation for network/security/DBA/server teams, wireless networks, all remote site network hardware (monitor/configure routers, switches, wireless AP's, paging equipment), automated job creation /monitoring/support, security/maintenance of network closets, as well as the environmental control of all campus network closets including the main data center. I was also responsible for project management and reporting of trends on issues discovered through the data my team acquired.

My duties as network operations supervisor included standing up a network operations center to monitor and support all store networks, campus access, branch offices, and to assist the other technology teams in project implementation. I was responsible for the hiring/training of personnel and all task assignment within my team. I leveraged several software solutions to track KPI’s and to monitor network health. My team was responsible for all tier one troubleshooting and working with ISP’s to push for the fastest resolution possible. The NOC also acted as an escalation point and interfaced to the other technology teams. My team was responsible for the configuration, testing, and shipping of all network equipment for new stores or in the event of a failure. I was also responsible for various network projects such as VOIP solutions, network equipment for refresh, improving redundancy, and break/fix issues.

My duties as a network administrator included troubleshooting, configuration, and deployment of all network equipment. This included cabling any new campus equipment, setting up monitoring alerts, configuring ports, etc. Issues were escalated to me via phone call or emails and I was tasked with resolving the issue or working with the correct group to get the issue resolved if it fell outside of networking. In this position I was also responsible for server/campus access changes, spanning new vlans, setting up port channels for servers, and working any break/fix network issues at stores as well as campus. I also became the sole voice engineer during this time frame. I was responsible for all phone or voice related issues, all SIP circuits/PRI’s, gateways, voicemail systems, and PBX’s. When I came into this role, we were running as dual vendor setup and I was tasked with migrating from the old system to the new Cisco solution. I successfully migrated to a new PBX, voice mail system, IVR, and gateways.

Monitoring all IT equipment nationwide and responding to any outages/issues immediately to minimize down time. This included being pro-active and solving many issues before failures occur.
