● Provide expert advice to the Deputy Secretary, DEDJTR Executive Management Team and Minister to support effective decision making.● Lead policy and strategy development to ensure effective decision making and support the delivery of natural resource management recreational and commercial fishing outcomes.● Oversee the implementation of all fisheries related legislation, including industry and civic regulation and compliance.● Deliver on all Government election commitments including the establishment and transition to the new Victorian Fisheries Authority.● Establish, lead and support an executive team to manage an integrated business of policy, compliance, science and licence administration, with budget responsibility of $45 million and 160 staff.● Negotiate on complex and sensitive issues to ensure effective delivery of outcomes and services to meet or exceed client expectations. ● Leading a fit for purpose, adaptive Regulatory team. Responsibilities● Manage the establishment across two Ministerial offices of the creation of two new Departments, DEDJTR and DELWP.● Provide strategic advice to the Secretary and Ministers on key organisational and operational imperatives of the new Departments. ● Deliver on all Government election commitments including Agriculture, Fisheries and Environmental policy.Achievements● Ensured the smooth transition of two new Ministers into Government working across the Department.● Established strong relationships between Ministerial offices and senior Department Executives.● Worked across portfolios to address emerging challenges including drying lakes, Fisheries election commitments and Hunting stakeholders.

Responsibilities● Lead a team of 240 metropolitan and regional based staff and manage a budget of $46m● Work across DELWP in a senior Executive capacity ensuring consistency and collaboration across the Department and contributing to the delivery of outcomes Department wide. ● Building and maintaining senior across Government relationships with collaborating agencies including central agencies, DTF and DPC, also Catchment Management Authorities, Water Authorities, Parks Victoria, Environment Protection Authority, Game Management Authority and Local Government. ● Managing Port Phillip Regional fire risk on crown land. Delivering a burning and fire safety management program. ● Managing over 700 independent committees of management across crown land, most with boards and chairs. A number operating as remunerated committees.● Resolving public land and coastal use challenges. Balancing triple bottom line outcomes for Government. ● Establishing strategic policy for crown land use across Port Phillip region and implementing the new riparian buffer zones across 1400 community caravan parks and reserves. Achievements● Established and delivered new DEPI Regional model meeting all organisational and stakeholder delivery targets. ● Established strong relationships between Ministerial offices and senior Department Executives.● Worked across portfolios to address emerging challenges including drying lakes, Fisheries election commitments and Hunting stakeholders.● Re-configured the Region budget to address existing budgetary challenges.● Restructured senior management team to provide a forward-thinking skilled leadership team to drive culture improvement and service delivery for the region.

Responsibilities● Manage a diverse staff base across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.● Reformed and restructured science provision to provide best practice science provision with a streamlined, fit for purpose team adopting nationwide science collaboration model.● Managed $16m budget and returned the Science and Management budget to a positive surplus position. Achievements● Delivered all key election commitments including initiating and delivering broad public consultation forums and expanded community stakeholder network. ● Reforming the science and management culture through direct engagement and bottom up consultation on reform and service delivery.

Responsibilities● Lead the office of the Deputy Premier of Victoria, Minister for Water and the Environment, Minister for a Fairer Victoria.● Provide strategic direction across government on policy reform in the Environment and natural resources fields. ● Deliver on all election commitments for Environment and Water.● Manage relationships across Ministerial offices, Departmental Secretary’s and Senior Executives including but not limited to DPC, DTF, DSE, DPI. This included partner agencies such as the EPA, Parks Victoria and the Catchment Management Authority.● Manage the office budget, support the 15 staff and build staff culture. ● Provide leadership and direction on complex policy matters, stakeholder engagement and problem solving. ● Provided strategic advice to Cabinet and Caucus across a range of Environmental and Natural resource management areas.Achievements● Significant delivery of policy reform in the Natural resources and Management space.● Across Government Ministerial, Caucus and Departmental support for significant reform for EPA and Parks Victoria relating to service delivery, functionality and best practice management. This included shifting focus within Parks Victoria from primarily environmental protection to visitor engagement and the “Healthy Parks, Healthy People” branding and working with the EPA to strengthen community support as a regulator for appropriate governance and oversight of industry and development whilst finding a path through red tape for significant investment and job creation opportunities for Victoria. ● Managed high-level risk for the Deputy Premier in terms of reputational, branding, media, policy, stakeholder relationships and financial (Departmental and office).● Achieved significant cabinet outcomes in a contested field across a range of environmental and natural resource areas.
